Kopriva's repair technicians are required to become I-Car Certified (Inter Industry
Conference on Auto Repair) and several hold additional ASE certifications. Each one of
our employees is encouraged and supported in their continuing education in a rapidly
changing automotive industry. Through state-of-the-art equipment, properly trained staff,
and qualified technicians, you can rest assured that your vehicle will be restored to it's
pre-accident condition. Through the years, it hasn't been unusual for an employee to
retire after a lifelong career at Kopriva Body Works.
Lara Kopriva: Lara has been with the company for 10 years, while continuing to enjoy
a career in modeling and her passion for travel. She has flourished within the company,
expanding her knowledge in order to accommodate her customers from start to finish.
Assisting a customer in filing an insurance claim, handling rental car arrangements,
keeping the car owner informed on the status of repairs, and maintaining office
procedures, are just a few of her many responsibilities within the company. Following in
her grandmother's footsteps has proven to be a very challenging, yet rewarding
experience for her.
David Kopriva: David joined the company full-time in 2000 after having attended
Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. Always having had an
interest in cars and trucks, it was only natural that he became a part of the family
business. David held numerous jobs within the company while attending specialized
industry training. He focused on learning the technical aspects of computerized
estimating, damage appraisal, paint refinishing, and frame/unibody repair. In his current
position as shop manager, David oversees the work flow of a busy, high volume shop
and coordinates the scheduling and delivery of repairs with our customers and
insurance companies.
John Kopriva: John is a native Houstonian and grew up in the East End. He graduated
from Texas Christian University (TCU), and served in the U.S. Navy spending two tours
of duty in Viet Nam. At the completion of his military service, John joined Texas
Commerce Bank now J.P.Morgan Chase in 1968. In 1974, he headed the Human
Resources Division for InterFirst Bank, now Bank of America as Senior Vice President
and Secretary to the Board of Directors. He has been an active member of Harrisburg
Rotary Club and has served on the Board of the Houston East End Chamber of
Commerce where KOPRIVA BODY WORKS was nominated Small Business of the
Year in 1999. John has continued to carry on the family tradition of providing
uncompromising quality, excellent service and integrity on all repairs. His father used to
say that his hand shake and word was his guarantee to the customer. Today all
customers receive a written lifetime warranty on craftsmanship and painting for as long
as they own their vehicle. Please call or come by, John will be happy to meet with you
and take you on a tour, he is proud to say that "We still do it the old fashion way, and
we put our Family Name on every product we deliver."

around the office, keeping an eye on things. My official title is “greeter”. In my downtime, I
enjoy eating treats and harassing the fish. Please come by and let me meet with you, as I
promise to add a little something to make your visit “Purr-fect” !
